Upton Marina, part of Tingdene Marinas Ltd, is pleased to announce that it is has retained its Four Gold Anchors accreditation for the 6th successive time. Being formally presented with their award by Mayor of Upton upon Severn, Councillor Simon Yates, the Marina team are rightfully proud of their achievement.
Managed by The Yacht Harbour Association in the UK, the Gold Anchor Scheme evaluates marinas against exacting standards across all areas of operation; including facilities, customer service and day-to-day running. It also carries out customer feedback and mystery shopper activities to gain insight into the full customer experience and ensure staff are delivering on all aspects of service.
Marina Manager, Nigel Webster explains: “Retaining our Four Gold Anchor accreditation is very important to us as it recognises the continued efforts of the Upton Marina team. Their commitment to customer service is reflected in the high standards we are able to offer our berth holders and visitors, plus the range and level of expertise that is available to them on site.”
Situated on the mighty River Severn, Tingedene Upton Marina offers secure pontoon and bankside moorings for all types of craft including narrow boats, Dutch barges and cruisers. It is also home to the Tingdene Boat Sales operation and a fleet of day hire boats. Complete with restaurant, bar, chandlery, toilet and shower facilities, plus a new laundry block planned for later this year, it is perfectly positioned for those wishing to tour the central inland waterways of the UK.
Commenting on the award Councillor Yates adds, “As a former port and hub of marine transportation Upton has a long history in marine activities. We are thrilled that such a wonderful marina continues to flourish within the town. It is an excellent facility for the community and an asset to local business.”
