Xmas & New Year Holiday
The Marina Office will be closing at 5pm on Monday 22nd of December 2008 and re-opening at 9am on Saturday 3rd of January 2009.
Cruisers Bar & Restaurant
Jane & Colin are now offering a 10% discount to Loyalty Card holders on meals served in the restaurant. (Loyalty Card must be shown).
They have a fine selection of homemade meals as well as the normal menu and Sunday roast, which can ordered by phone as a takeaway.
A pre-Christmas menu is now available for party bookings and tickets are now on sale from the bar for a New Years Eve celebration disco and free buffet which will start at 8pm.
Annual Mooring Tariff 2009
We are pleased to announce that we are freezing our annual in advance mooring tariff at current levels for the whole of 2009. This tariff is already the cheaper ‘discount rate’. This means that if you have paid the annual in advance tariff this year, you will pay the same amount in 2009. If you are currently not on the annual in advance tariff, and you would like to save money by paying in advance and reserving your berth for a full year, please contact the marina office on (01684 594287) or uptonmarina@tingdene.net.
Please note that you may switch to the annual in advance tariff at any time; if you are currently paying by monthly direct debit, or on a monthly seasonal berth, you do not have to wait until your current contract expires. We will simply suspend your current contract, without penalty, and you can then take advantage of the “frozen” annual in advance rate.
We hope that this will help all our customers in the current economic climate; and we thank you for your continued business. Full details of all other tariffs will be announced next spring as usual and can we remind you that our new maximum length charged will be 14 metres from 1st April, 2009.
Security Codes
We will be repeating this scheme again next summer. Please make sure that you collect your 2009 code list from the Marina Office during March 2009. Thank you
Winterising
Please bear in mind the importance of winterising your boat and engine(s) against frost damage. We do experience local power cuts in this area; and also in extremely cold weather electric heaters have been insufficient.
Ice and Snow
Snow and ice can make the pathways, roads, ramps, pontoons, and especially the metal edgings extremely slippery! We have put out some bins containing rock salt for your use. Please be careful when you walk to and from your boat.

Marine Performance
Don’t forget to return your Winter Work Schedules to Marine Performance and to pop in for your winter essentials. The Chandlery and Service Centre will close for the Xmas break at 4.00pm on 22nd December 2008, and re-open on 5th January 2009. Please phone 01684 594540 with any queries.
Walton Marine
The boat sales office will close on Sunday 21st December 2008 and re-open on Friday 2nd January 2009.
Antifoul and Hull Mess
As ever we are anxious not to pollute our environment at the Marina, please ensure that all hull scrapings and pressure-wash residues are collected and disposed of carefully, and not allowed to enter the water. There is a dedicated run-off area in the front car park for use when pressure-washing.
Smokeless Fuel
Could we ask all moorers who have real fires on their boats to be considerate to others and burn smokeless fuel? Thank you
Lifejackets
Following a recent incident in the Marina, can we please remind you all to wear a lifejacket when on the pontoons at night, and when the river level is up. Don’t forget that the pontoons can get very slippery in wintry conditions.
Satellite Television
As T.V. reception is poor in the Marina, we have enclosed information from a company called Travelsat. The normal price for the buying and installing a satellite dish, satellite receiver, compass, and satellite finder is £450.00 but a £50 discount will be given to Tingdene Loyalty Card holders.
