A Dry Upton Festival Evening!
It started off well this year, April was really warm and sunny. Long may it continue and we have the long lovely summer that has been forecast! It is really good to see our customers out there enjoying themselves.
Berth-holders Pig Roast
The Tingdene Pig Roast held at Cruisers Bar on Saturday 19th June for Loyalty Card Holders was a huge success with over 100 berth-holders and staff in attendance. The food was plentiful and although the evening turned cooler everyone seemed to have a good time. Thank you everyone for coming. Roll on 2011!
Own BBQs
Stating the obvious but please do not Bar-B-Que on the pontoons. You are welcome to use the areas either side of the slipway for this purpose, but please ensure that you leave the area tidy after use.
Free one-way hoist for Annual berth-holders
When you are going to book your free lift please contact the Marina Office and not the Service Centre, otherwise you will be charged.

Marina Tariff
We would like to take this opportunity to once again clarify the tariff structure to you.
The annual in advance rate is the lowest cost option and is afforded to those signing up for an annual contract. Payment is due before the start date of the contract. So if your contract starts on the 1st of the month, please don’t be surprised if you receive word in the middle of that month that, as the moorings are still unpaid, we are no longer able to offer you the “annual in advance” rate. Of course prompt payment will avoid any such action.
We would also like to clear up some confusion regarding direct debits. Those of you paying your annual contract by direct debit have made a commitment to pay for your mooring for the full year. If you choose to cancel your contract before the year is up you will continue to pay for remaining length of the contract. The only exception to this is if you are selling your boat through our brokerage department, where we have a refund policy in place should your boat sell before the end of your mooring period.
If you have not committed to an annual contract, whether you pay in one installment or by direct debit, you are charged the monthly seasonal rate. If you wish to change from the monthly seasonal rate to an annual contract, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 01684 594287
Anodes
We have received some complaints about electrolysis and would ask you to make sure that you have the correct size and type of anode fitted to your boat.
Security
Again, we ask you to make sure that your valuables are safely stored on board your boats, and your outboard engines are well secured to your boat – particularly if it is out of the water. Also make sure that the pontoon gates are secure when you have passed through. Please also ensure that the gate codes are not passed around for public use.
Cygnets
Our pair of swans this year produced eight cygnets and they have all survived and are seen around the Marina with the two adults.

The engineering and service departments at Marine Performance will be closed for annual holidays from Monday 9th August to Friday 13th August inclusive. However, the Chandlery and Office will be open as usual.

Visiting Trade Contractors
Please may we ask that all our customers who use outside contractors to do work on their boats inform the Marina Office. The Visiting Trade Operator must report to the Office and complete a form confirming that they have Public and Employers Liability Insurance, including a minimum of £5,000,000 Third Party Cover.
Dogs
Please may we remind you that dogs should be kept on leads at all times when on the Marina premises and also for owners to clear up after their pets using the bins provided. Thank you.

Upton Festivals
The August Bank Holiday now has a new festival – Upton Festival 2010 - a festival with lots of good music to be held on 28th - 29th August. Tickets for all berth-holders will be available from the Marina Office at a reduced price of £36.00 for the weekend – instead of £46.00. See flyer enclosed.
