Tourist Information and Local Events
Being one of the residences of the Royal Family, Windsor is a great attraction for tourists, with many varied shops and restaurants. And just over the bridge is Eton with its famous College and another variety of shops and boutiques.
Every weekday, there is the fascinating ‘Changing of the Guard’ at the castle and other events include the Horse Show in May each year and Art and Craft exhibition in spring and autumn – in the grounds of Windsor Racecourse. There is also horseracing going on from April to November, mostly on Mondays but also on some weekends.
We are not far away from London, but if you are looking for green spaces, Runnymede and Windsor Great Park are just a few minutes’ drive by car. You can walk into Windsor itself, along the River, if you feel energetic. It’s only about 1.5 miles.
